Summary of Week of March 3rd.

Last week we learned the properties of a parallelogram, rhombus, square, rectangle and Trapezoids.

For the properties of the square :
-Diagonals are congruent
- Diagonals are Perpendicular
- Diagonals bisect the angles.

For Rhombus :
- Two pair of adjacent sides . 4 equal sides
- Diagonals bisect angles.
- Diagonals are perp.

For Rectangle:
- Diagonals are congruent

For Parallelogram:
-Consecutive angles are supplementary
- Opposite angles are equal
- Diagonals bisect each other

For Trapezoid
- One pair parallel lines
- Same side interior add up to 180

These rules were quiet easy to memorize and we had a test on Thursday on this information.
I thought the hardest one to remember was the Rhombus.
We also did an activity on this... Mrs. D gave us a shape and one length or angle and we had to find the rest using all these rules.
We didn't really learn a lot this week. except those properties.
I really like this topic that we are learning in math right now.

I also found some really good sites on helping you with these problems.

Personal Growth

1. Is your progress what you expected it to be?

Well I think I have been slacking off a little bit too much and I think I should participate more in the class. In terms of the progress that I have made....there is none I am still slacking off since the begining of the year but this quarter will be diffrent!

2. How is your progress different than your expectations?

Well my expectations were that I would finish the mid term with an A and i ended up with a D. Not very good for me. Like i said above i have been slacking to much. But that will all change.

3. What are you doing in preparation for this class that you are proud of?

First I am not very proud of this class. I dont like the class alot. I get ready for the class the night before, I do my homework and I find my calculator and ruler and I get ready to learn in that class. ( Really didn't understand question, I wrote what I wrote what I thought we were suppose to write. sorry ! )

4. What are you doing that you could do better?

Right now I am actually doing everything that I am suppose to be doing, I am listing more in class and doing all my homework and Warm Ups, etc. I am prepared for class. I am really improving in math class.

5. What is preventing you from doing as well as you could possibly do?
Hahah... Well the people in the classroom are distracting. I mean I like everyone in that class and if they were more quieter then I would get alot more done, I am a talkative person... not going to lie.

My Growth Plan is that I keep on Behaving well in class, doing all my homework, being prepared for class and so on. I would mostly like to achieve the goal of a worker bee this quarter!!!!! :)

Bloggy. Time. Once! . Again

OK well i liked the Pythagorean theorem alot.
And example of this would be if you are looking for one side of a triangle. for example. If you had a right triangle and you had 2 of the sides but you were missing one of sides you could do the Pythagorean theorem. A2+B2= C2 . If the 2 sides were given like 4 and 5 and you had to find C you would do 16+25= C2, so you would add those together and then find the square root of the number. for this the answer would be 41 and the square root of that would be 6.40312424. There are also Pythagorean triples. they consists of 2, 3, 4 if you see any of those numbers you know it is a triple.
I like this Theorem alot. :)
Lazar travelled 3 miles up and then 5 miles right. what would be the distance across. 9+25= 36 and square root of 36 is 6 SO the answer is 6 miles.

Blog Again...>:*C

What connections can you make between what you are learning in class and the real world? That is, can you think of any applications besides those that we may have done in class or you have seen in the textbook? Explain the connections.

((/1\)) -- Well I think what we are learning in class right now has nothing to do in the real world that is my personal opinion I mean using the similar triangles and same triangles it just is useless in a "Teenagers" World.

What do you foresee yourself studying in college or when you graduate high school? How do you think math is related? Find information online to back up your thoughts.

((/2\)) -- I foresee myself studying doctrine in College, I would like to become a Doctor like my dad and my grandpa and my great grandpa. Well math is related beacuse you have to know how to do math because being a doctor requires you to know math and to know how much medicin the paitent needs.

How is the math that we are doing in class related to your interests outside of class? Find information online to back up your thoughts.

((/3\)) -- Well once again the SSS, AA etc. I really don't know where I would ever use this in my life. I mean I don't find anything in this classroom for me to use in the outside world. I know all this stuff because in my old school we had already learned this. So I really don't know where i would use this outside of school.

Bloggggy Time. 6. :D

Assignments- I did most of the work required.
Classwork - I did most of the work required
Homework - I did most of the work required
Studying for Quizzes - I did most of the work required study hall =Loveeee with georgia!! < : D
Reworking problems that you misunderstood - I did most of the work required
Making up work and checking the eboard when absent - I did't do any

=D

I have done a good jobing listening I get good grades in math so I do listen and pay attention. I just talk alot to myself, and i start side conversations yes.

I think that I need to try to shut my mouth more and not talk because I'm having problems with the work.
I will no longer ask my classmates about the questions I have, I will ask our teacher.
But then when you think about it your really suppose to be talking so "you can learn and understand better alone"
To tell you the truth I didn't learn anything new. I Just am reviewing things that I already know. Now im not saying that im perfect. I have made some stupid mistakes on tests , but its all good. :D
