Summary of Week of March 3rd.

Last week we learned the properties of a parallelogram, rhombus, square, rectangle and Trapezoids.

For the properties of the square :
-Diagonals are congruent
- Diagonals are Perpendicular
- Diagonals bisect the angles.

For Rhombus :
- Two pair of adjacent sides . 4 equal sides
- Diagonals bisect angles.
- Diagonals are perp.

For Rectangle:
- Diagonals are congruent

For Parallelogram:
-Consecutive angles are supplementary
- Opposite angles are equal
- Diagonals bisect each other

For Trapezoid
- One pair parallel lines
- Same side interior add up to 180

These rules were quiet easy to memorize and we had a test on Thursday on this information.
I thought the hardest one to remember was the Rhombus.
We also did an activity on this... Mrs. D gave us a shape and one length or angle and we had to find the rest using all these rules.
We didn't really learn a lot this week. except those properties.
I really like this topic that we are learning in math right now.

I also found some really good sites on helping you with these problems.

yeah memorizing the different properties of each shape was hard lazar. one way to remember the rhombus though and that its properties are pretty easy to solve for. like how all the middle angles are 90 degrees. and how the diagonals bisect the angles so i didnt have to solve for each of them, once i knew one i knew the one diagonal to it. knowning the easy properties made me like it a lot better, maybe it'll do the same for you?

Cool! very nice and detailed.(sp) The list is very helpful to have, and this sets a good example for other blogs, (like mine, lol)

You did a good job listing the properties. This is a good reference for when you are starting to study for the final. Make sure you do not forget it!
